Last night, while I slept, the curtain came down on one of the most decorated footballing careers in my lifetime.
In the 82nd minute, David Beckham was substituted in what could be his final appearance on a football pitch. He hugged his teammates, and broke down as he left the field to a standing ovation from the Paris supporters.
This man never played for a club that I supported, but I had the utmost respect for him. He was my favourite player when I was younger, and like many my age at the time, I wanted to grow up to “Bend It Like Beckham” and to play football the way he did.
He is an outstanding role model to all young footballers and a great ambassador for the game.
He may never grace a field again, but David Beckham will be someone that I will look up to and admire for as long as I live.
won soccer 1 nil today!
we scored by penalty but still that win still counts so woo!
alsoi made two good saves.
one from a perfect corner kick…she dropped it right into the box…unfortunately for her i am tall and a beast of a keeper so they had no chance before i plucked it out of the air :)
the second one was super close!
kicker took a shot from about 5 metres out from the box, she hit it pretty low so it went high and straight into the box but i was at the goal mouth so i had to let it bounce…and bounce it did! i was about 1 metre from the line and it almost got over me but i jumped and timed it well so i could bring it down.
after the game everyone said how chill i was in that one…haha i was freaking out! i dunno why but people seem to think i’m ‘chill’ or ‘calm’ when i move around or do stuff under pressure.
most of the time i’m freaking out just as much or more as everyone else though!!
lol it must be cause i work in a restaurant and i’m pretty good under pressure and how to handle myself….phew!!
so far i’ve had 4 full games as keeper and only been scored on once!!
hope ya’ll are having a good day!

so this was posted yesterday and i haven’t stopped having obsessive thoughts of that amazing feeling i’m gonna get once i finally get my offer!
and then the huge feeling of anxiety and just generally the fact that i’ll be 3 hours in the middle of nowhere with hundreds of strangers who i kinda have to make like me in order for me to have any sort or social-ness or fun for almost 8 months.
jesus
hahaha
i also get pretty home sick easily. should be interesting.
and cause i don’t think there’s much internet i think this blog is best deleted till i have time for such things once i’m there so i can focus on study and stuff.
but.
till that time comes i shall be forever scrolling my life away!! haha

Beckham’s boots for his last game
Tomorrow, David Beckham plays in the final match of his career. As he heads into retirement, he carries the pride of Great Britain. Typical Becks.
